Crested Butte - Day 4

Well last night we didn't do anything. We left the condo around 10 at night or so to go to the nearest bar. Well Butte 66, the bar, was closed, so we came back and called it a night.
The next morning we woke up early to get to the Adventure office to pick our helmets and jump on the shuttle for our snowmobile ride. We got back to the condo around noon, changed and went to town to eat at a burger joint called Gassers. After we ate, we walked around town and did some site-seeing. Once we were plum tuckered out, we came back to the condo again and relaxed till we crashed.

Crested Butte - Day 3

Well like I said, here are the pictures for last night. Nice game of quarters that ended up in Mary and Ben drinking a majority of the beer. We didn't get any pictures on the mountain today. We got up there just to find out I didn't even put the battery in the camera. But none the less we had a blast. It was another great day, with perfect weather and well groomed runs. We hit a lot of stuff we hadn't hit before on the trip as well as some we haven't ever hit before at all. We hit some jib parks (freestyle areas) and some nice wide areas too. No pictures to prove it though.

Pictures to expect in the next post... whatever we do tonight and our snowmobile trip from tomorrow...

Crested Butte - Day 2

Well... after the first day of boarding, we decided we would hit up a drinking game for a while. Did that until it was time to eat and soon after we decided we were too full to continue.
We wake up the next morning to an awesome looking day. Sunny and clear skies. Snow was lush and it wasn't pouring down. The entire day went great and we ended up going up and down the mountain 8 times throughout the day and had a great lunch in there as well. Mary was a wuss indeed and decided today wasn't the day for her to go up on the mountain. She was in pretty good pain from the day before and just wasn't feeling up to it. She ended up walking around town, sight seeing, and had an incredible cup coffee with an Advil on the side.

Pictures from last night and today are posted below... Expect tonight's festivities and tomorrow's run on the next post...

Crested Butte - Day 1

Well our trip up to Crested Butte, Colorado started around 8 o'clock Friday night. Ben, Kellner, Mary and myself are going to encounter record snow fall, long drives, and aching muscles. Our trip, including stops, took us 2o hours and 2o minutes to arrive. This includes stops for gas, food, a stop in New Mexico due to a heavy down-pour of snow, and a grocery/calzone/thrift store stop in Gunnison, which was our last stop before Crested Butte.
When we arrived in Crested Butte end were able to check-in to the condo. The condo was different from ones in previous stays, in that it had no washer and dryer, nor did it have storage for all of our gear. We went to get the crew's rental gear, made some phone calls and ended up with a better condo literally on the mountain. It was closer to the lifts than we have ever lodged and had all the amenities we needed.
Once we got settled in, we went right outside our front door and did a little training session with Ben and Mary. Ben got it pretty good, Mary had some little problems, but nothing that couldn't be improved on. Afterward, we rested and watched tv, and then crashed out about 10 o'clock.

Here are some pictures from the ride...

Ben crawling on the New Mexico sign...Ben mooning on-coming traffic...
Mary's first footstep in the snow... with her beater dunks...
"I'm driving baby."

And so have we...
